WoW Classic Engineering Leveling Guide

This WoW Classic Engineering leveling guide provides a cost-efficient path from skill 1 to 300. The route is calculated using estimated material costs together with each recipe's skill-up range, so it may continue using a cheaper recipe after it stops guaranteeing a skill point when doing so is expected to reduce the overall cost of leveling.

Engineering frequently uses components you crafted at earlier skill levels in later recipes. Items marked (keep) should be saved rather than sold or discarded, as the route expects to use them in subsequent crafts.

Quantities marked with an asterisk are estimates because yellow and green recipes don't guarantee a skill point on every craft.

Engineering Leveling Tips

Keep the Engineering components marked (keep) in the guide. Many Engineering recipes are built from components made earlier in the leveling process, so selling them can force you to craft or buy replacements later.

This is especially important for components such as blasting powders, frameworks, gizmos, triggers and casings. The route accounts for their later use when selecting the recommended crafts.

Gnome Engineering Racial Bonus

Gnomes receive a +15 bonus to Engineering skill. If your character is a Gnome, enable Gnome Racial (+15) above the guide so the leveling route can take the additional skill into account.

The racial bonus can change which recipes are most efficient at particular points in the route, so a Gnome should not necessarily follow exactly the same sequence as another race.

Check Schematic Availability

Some Engineering recipes require a schematic rather than being learned directly from a profession trainer. Check that you can obtain any required schematic before buying all of the materials for that stage. If a schematic is unavailable or unusually expensive on your server, another recipe may be the better option.

Normal vs Aggressive Leveling

Enable Aggressive if you're willing to continue using recipes after their skill-up chance begins to fall when the estimated material savings justify the additional crafts. The standard route is more conservative. Because yellow and green skill-ups are probabilistic, your actual material requirements may be slightly higher or lower than the quantities shown.
