WoW Classic Tailoring Leveling Guide

This WoW Classic Tailoring leveling guide provides a cost-efficient path from skill 1 to 300. The route uses estimated material costs together with each recipe's skill-up range to select efficient crafts as you level.

Tailoring frequently turns raw cloth into bolts that are then used by later recipes. Items marked (keep) should be saved, as the route expects to use them in subsequent crafts.

Quantities marked with an asterisk are estimates because yellow and green recipes don't guarantee a skill point on every craft.

Tailoring Leveling Tips

Keep the bolts marked (keep) in the guide. Tailoring repeatedly uses bolts made at earlier skill levels in later clothing and bag recipes, so selling or discarding them can force you to craft or buy replacements.

It is also worth checking vendor materials such as thread, dyes and bleach before starting a long crafting section. These materials are easy to overlook when planning only around the cloth requirements.

Plan Cloth and Bolts Together

Tailoring is most efficient when you treat raw cloth and crafted bolts as part of the same material plan. For example, Linen Cloth is first converted into Bolt of Linen Cloth and those bolts are then consumed by later recipes. The same pattern continues with Wool, Silk, Mageweave and Runecloth.

This means the cheapest route depends not only on the price of raw cloth, but also on how many bolts are required by the recipes that follow.

Check Pattern Availability

Some of the later Tailoring recipes require a specific pattern rather than being learned automatically from a trainer. Check that you can obtain the required pattern before buying all of the materials for that stage.

In this route, the final levels use recipes such as Runecloth Bag and Runecloth Gloves, which require their respective patterns.

Normal vs Aggressive Leveling

Enable Aggressive if you're willing to continue using recipes after their skill-up chance begins to fall when the estimated material savings justify the additional crafts. The standard route is more conservative.

Because yellow and green skill-ups are probabilistic, your actual material requirements may be slightly higher or lower than the quantities shown.
