Smarter WoW TBC Profession Leveling

WoWProfs helps you level your WoW TBC crafting professions efficiently without having to work out every recipe, material and skill-up breakpoint yourself.

Unlike traditional profession guides that use a fixed list of recipes, WowProfs calculates a leveling path using recipe skill-up chances, material requirements and estimated material costs. As recipes move from orange to yellow, green and eventually grey, the chance of gaining a skill point changes. WowProfs weighs the expected number of crafts against their estimated cost to find an efficient route through each profession.

This means the cheapest recipe isn't always the cheapest way to gain a skill point. A more expensive orange recipe that guarantees a skill-up can sometimes be better value than repeatedly crafting a cheaper yellow or green recipe.

Choose How Aggressively You Level

Profession leveling involves some randomness once a recipe is no longer guaranteed to give a skill point. The Aggressive option allows the calculator to continue using suitable recipes further into their lower skill-up ranges when the expected material cost makes that worthwhile.

Because these skill gains are random, quantities marked with an asterisk are estimates. You may need a few more or a few fewer crafts than shown.

Plan Your Materials Before You Start

Each guide shows the materials required for every stage of the leveling process, helping you plan what to buy, gather or keep before you start crafting.

Some crafted items become ingredients for recipes later in the leveling path. These are marked (keep) so you don't accidentally sell or discard materials the guide expects you to use again.

Where applicable, WowProfs also accounts for profession racial bonuses. Selecting your racial bonus adjusts the relevant skill levels and allows the calculator to produce a route appropriate for your character.

Calculated, Not Just a Static Guide

Material costs and skill-up probabilities can make profession leveling less straightforward than simply crafting the lowest-level available recipe. WowProfs combines these factors to estimate the expected cost of gaining each skill point and uses that information when building the leveling route.

The result is a practical leveling plan designed to reduce unnecessary crafting and wasted materials while still accounting for the randomness built into WoW's profession system.
